Encounter with an enlightened being
aura / n : a feeling or character that a person or place seems to have; sometimes used to refer to a type of light that some people say they can see around people and animals.
You know how you read in books about how someone has a "strange aura" surrounding him/her, or how there's "an aura" about him/her? Never really met anyone whom I could describe as such until now. We had a trip out to Pulau Semakau again today. Only Alvin was able to go representing WildFilms. I was there as a Semakau trainee guide, and Ria as trainer/coordinator/site recce person.
We trainee guides were very lucky to have Joseph Lai with us today, who introduced us to all the mangrove and shore plants, providing invaluable information about an important part of Semakau's ecosystem almost alien to us.

He has an aura about him, I tell you. For a person of many words like me, I feel like a poet without a pen, and just can't describe it any more than that. It's just an aura.
I don't have many blog-worthy photos from today, so, I'll just end with the same old, same old, can't-go-far-wrong-pretty-scenery pic. Sorry lah, but who ever gets bored of the sunrise or sunset anyway...

That must be the shortest post I have seen from you ... :P
Hehe. Jeff
But a post that comes from the heart, Bernie.
I know just what you mean Bernie. Joe takes your breath away with his poetry and inspirational thoughts. After hearing him, there doesn't seem much else that we can say.
I often go to him when I get into a rut and lose direction. Joe never fails to get me back on my feet with clear-headed poetry.
