New record at Base Camp

The cutest cat has just made Base Camp his new home.

His foster mum, Paula, called him Mr Cute and he does indeed live up to his name. She also calls him Tootsie, which I presume is short for "Too Many Toesies". Paula says he has 29 toes!!

But Tootsie hasn't stayed still long enough for me to count them all. That must be a new record somewhere, certainly is for Base Camp, if not Singapore.

I am sure he will fit right in with the rest of the denizens at Base Camp, including the humans. Some of whom are rather odd themselves.

Of course, regulars at Base Camp will know the arrival of new cats means Luci has gone on to a better place. It was time for him to go. I know I shall miss him, the only furry slug-cat.

Not sure if the rest of the crew will. I am sure they will prefer equipment, reference books and personal belongings that are NOT pre-slimed.

There's space in Base Camp for two more cats. Awaiting to hear of further potential residents.

At first I thought it was some new form of mosquito...

Looks cute. Hope you don't feel too bad about Luci.

My condolences. But perhaps he is in a better place now.

Tootsie is lovely. I can't wait to count his toes too...

I will miss Luci, the closest thing to slimy a cat ever could get. He was probably the only cat that would ever tolerate having me cuddle him, slime and all. For some reason, I think I will always remember him in his silly moments, oblivious to the absurd trail of drool sticking to his head, nudging for more cuddles and petting.

Hope you're doing ok. :(

Sorry to hear about Luci.:o(

Hope he is doing well in that better place and you are okay.

Besides being slimy and like to pee on anything (including my bag once)that he got his chance on, I will miss that innocent look that he gave whenever he was asking for food too.

Tootsie(aka Mr Cute) looks like he had a moustache. Cute!

I'm OK guys. Thanks for the kind thoughts.

It was a hard decision. Even though I know it's the right thing to do, it's still hard to let go.

Well, at least we don't have to double check the black bags before leaving Base Camp, just in case a black cat is innocently sleeping in one :-)

Mr Cute is really frisky. I forgot how hyper a kitten can be. He loves cuddles, and to have his tummy tickled. Highly attention seeking.

I'm sure by the time you guys come around, he'll be well settled in. And we can all leisurely count his toes.

And he would no doubt find new ways to get into your personal belongings and our field gear. He has already started chewing on the reference books.

Oo, yah, I didn't notice the moustache!

...and Tom, sadly, new records of mosquitos constantly being made, e.g., biggest, pokiest, whineiest, mostest. Sigh.

Oh wow... he really does have so many toes! We spent the entire dinner pondering where all the toes would fit on tiny paws.

Does he have as many claws?

I only met Luci once. But I love him too. Sorry Ria, to hear about Luci. Hope your new cat family will provide you with much joy and happiness :)

Luci... real sorry abt what has happened, but I think it's time he got on to rest in somewhere which he no longer feels the torment of the illness. Hope he's happy.. he never made us feel unwanted at base camp.. always snuggling up to rub against my legs.. indeed the most affectionate of the trio..

sure will miss the slimey guy... in any case we all had lots of affection for anything slimey and gooey (onchs included)

As for tootsie, hope the coming super lows will be great time to get acquainted with him!

Sorry to hear that Luci had left. Hope it's doing fine in its own world now.
I still remember how I merely mistook it as the D&G bag & nearly slapped the poncho onto it but its bright eyes woke me up from the daze.
Will miss Luci.
God Bless
